So my Chemistry teacher has an Asian grading scale…
- A - Average
- B - Below Average
- C - Can’t eat dinner
- D - Don’t come home
- F - Find a new family
I don’t want to have the world’s attention. Yours is enough.
Date yourself. Take yourself out to eat. Don’t share your popcorn at the movies with anyone. Stroll around an art museum alone. Fall in love with canvases. Fall in love with yourself.
There’s you, there’s me, and then, there’s the craving in between.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
Anything worth learning comes from mistakes, because only through mistakes does the learning really sink into you.
Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?
I don’t want just words. If that’s all you have for me, you’d better go.
Sometimes you just need to cry and be sad. You need to break down and be torn apart. You need to learn to pick yourself up and put yourself back together. Sometimes, the only way to be happy is to give into sadness first, because without sadness, there is no happiness; you would never learn to smile.
True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.
